If it’s not myPod, it’s usually NPR that you can hear coming from the speakers of the car. And tonight, not quite sure how, but for the first time I caught Garrison Keillor’s nightly little diddy, The Writer’s Almanac, and it’s absolutely lovely. It made the end of my day one million times better. It’s one thing to get to hear Garrison’s soothing voice tell me stories of Lake Woebegon and the like on the weekends, but nightly? It’s a thing of beauty.  Love the man.

Speaking of which, this weekend was Prairie Home Companion’s joke show and my mom has had an arsenal of jokes ever since.

That’s the news from Lake Woebegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking and all the children are above average.
